CARE PACKAGE COORDINATOR

How did you first learn about and begin working with The Avery Center?

I found The Avery Center from an online search to volunteer with an anti-human trafficking organization. I've been working with the organization since December 2018, starting as an event volunteer and blossoming into my current role of Care Package Coordinator.

What's your favorite part/the most fulfilling part of your role?

Getting to work with the amazing staff, and getting to know some of them on a personal level. It's great to be a part of their family and a part of the family as a volunteer as well. I love getting responses back about the care packages I send out each month.

When I started with The Avery Center as an event volunteer, public speaking was a big fear of mine. Not only has my work helped me become more comfortable with public speaking, but it's also helped me make some great networking connections with famous people I never thought I'd be able to talk with. I really appreciate the personal and professional growth opportunities I've had!

What do you enjoy doing when you're not at The Avery Center?

Reading, chilling with my dog.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?

Crochet

What advice would you give someone who wants to join our team of superstars?

Be passionate for what you believe in and help out wherever you can, even if it's not something you might want to do in the beginning, you never know it may lead to greater things. Be willing to take constructive criticism.
