DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

How did you first learn about and begin working with The Avery Center?

I met Megan and Angie at the Villanova Conference in 2018. I attended one their workshops and felt really inspired. I already wanted to do research and it was really exciting to see that was already being done from a survivor-centered perspective. A few months later, Megan posted that she was hiring for someone to take the lead on marketing and I jumped at the opportunity to work with the organization.

How long have you been working with The Avery Center?

Since September 2018

What do you think sets The Avery Center apart from other organizations in this sector?

The Avery Center is unique in that the organization lives and breathes their values in everything that they do. They are a truly survivor-centered organization that approaches every decision with integrity.

What's your favorite part/the most fulfilling part of your role?

The Avery Center is a great place to work because I feel like I am always growing in my work. My tasks and interactions with others push me to be more innovative and creative.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not at The Avery Center?

I love hiking, spending time with friends and family, and reading.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

I really admire the friends I have made over the past few years. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things. My friends have been the heroes in my life, encouraging me to pursue joy, challenging me to view things from new perspectives, and offering support during difficult times.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?

For the past two years, I have been keeping a daily photo journal. I love being able to look back on my life and see the small moments that make the everyday special.
