How did you first learn about and begin working with The Avery Center?

I did some research to find a non-profit tackling some of the issues keeping me up at night and started working with The Avery Center in January of 2021.

What do you think sets The Avery Center apart from other organizations in this sector?

Lived Experience
Broad Partnerships
Survivor Support

What's your favorite part/the most fulfilling part of your role?

The education I receive which can help my very loud voice spread the word about the Avery Center.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not at The Avery Center?

Creating and managing events, traveling with my husband, serving non-profits in our community, and being the best mom possible to 3 little ones.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

Some of my very best friends are Directors of non-profits, and just as many are small business owners. I must be drawn to strong, decisive women who care deeply for others and for entrepreneurship. I can’t say there is just one I admire, because I look up to them all. People who lead heart first are those who I admire.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?

I am in the Guinness Book of World Records – not for a talent – but for taking on a crazy challenge. A dear friend (and small business owner) and I decided to raise awareness for National Children’s Dental Health Month. We broke a world record for longest line of toothbrushes (over 6 miles!) and donated thousands of toothbrushes and toothpaste to non-profits that serve children all over Colorado.

What advice would you give someone who wants to join the Avery team of superstars?

We need you. They need you. Let’s do this together!

What you're listening to now:

I can’t pick just one. In general, my favorite books and podcasts are those that make me think. True stories, business motivation, inspirational stories… I love it all.

TV show you're hooked on:

I am a sucker for Dateline, 60 minutes, 20/20… but most of my time these days is spent with Thomas the Train.
